If you want to save money, you need to pass up "good" deals. Whoa, what is that? Yes, pass up the "good" deals! Every week there are "good" deals out there waiting for you. But, if you want to save a lot of money, you need to learn to look for the "best" deals - not just "good" ones!
What do I mean? Well, toothpaste at .75 cents is a "good" deal, but I would pass it up. There are plenty of free toothpaste deals that come around often enough to keep my toothpaste stockpile in good shape. I would also pass up "good" deals on toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner and razors. All these things generally can be found for free - that is, if you can wait for the "best" deal.
You can only wait for the best deal if you have a stockpile, and yes, sometimes you do need to build your stockpile with a few "good" deals. But, once you have an established stockpile, sit back and wait for the "best" deals! And let the "good" ones pass you by!
