Apple Picking Has Started at Anderson Orchard in Pleasantview - Our Bag of Apples .52 cents /lb
Today we took some time to go out to Anderson Orchard - one of our favorite places to visit. They have great apples, the best apple cider slushies, apple cobbler and corn dogs. Today we went to pick a few apples and get some apple cider slushies for the kids.
We decided to pick only a small bag of apples since it is the beginning of the picking season and the apples will improve as the season goes on. We chose the $4.00 1/2 peck bag. We filled our bag with a variety of the apples that are now ready.
When I got home I decided to weigh or apples and see if apple picking was economical as well as a fun time for us! We picked over 7 lbs of apples and that would make our apples cost only .52 cents a lb. What a great deal and we had a great time too.
After going to the orchard, we go around the corner to Southeastway park. The park has a wonderful shaded playground and swings. The kids had a great time! There are also nice picnic areas, grills for cooking out and pavilions at the park. There are also a lot of paths for walking.
You can reach Anderson Orchard easily from I-74, for directions go here.

Wow! That IS a great deal! Looks like fun, too. :)
We just picked raspberries there this week. My favorite thing to buy there is popcorn $5.00 for a gallon jug. I buy two (for our family of 9) and it lasts us a year.
Oops, just realized we went to a different Anderson's Orchard- the one in Moorsville.
Monica - what else does the Mooresville locations have? I think it might be bigger than the one we go to in Pleasantview - but I have never been there.
Do they have food and the slushies too? What produce do you find there?
They currently had tomatoes and sometimes there are peaches and corn for sale at the Pleasantview location. Along with all kinds of preserves and goodies!
Thanks for the comments!
